How to forget the past?
Big question. Highly encountered. Generally for sentimental personalities. Girlfriends. Dumps. Failures. Bossy behaviours. Abuse. Ruined Careers. Homeless life. Heated talks. And all we could think of. Forgetting the past isn't easy at all! They say it "Haunts" you.
Those people, places and tiny reminders keep showing up, shouting their unforgettable stories. I've had those too! Though my experiences where too childish to keep remembering, but we all need those little doses so that even when we encounter them, we don't suffer those moments again and again.
Keep yourself enthusiastic about the future - Past haunts when you focus on it. Keep focusing upon the brighter future and get so busy being in the now and reaching the better future that past never gets time to access your present moments.
Find something to stay busy when it happens - Sometimes people, places, situations will bring you your past experiences in limelight and you might even feel embarrassed about it. When this happens, use your secret weapon of "I am busy." against it. Ignore the subject and change your focus on to something more interesting and fun!
Happiness dissolves everything - If you are happy now, you don't really care what your past it. It is when you are feeling low, depressed and lousy that your past surfaces. It is a simple law of attraction experience. When you focus on these energy losing subjects, you will find more energy losing subjects. This the the reason you are remembering the past. You should release the resistance first.
Use Prayers, Friends and Movie Tickets - Prayer is one good way to talk to the infinity. Learn to pray. As you are focusing on negative emotions you are attracting more of them from the past and for the future alike. The best way to get through forgetting the past is by focusing on fun and gratitude.
Meditate and Forgive - Meditating has always been an important part of what I've become after college. I wanted to forget the past and move on. I wanted to create a better future. All I needed was the change my vibration from what I was to what I wanted to be. I practiced mindfulness and forgiveness meditation.
Ask the right questions - When you ask the right questions you will find the right answers. Ask "How can I be happy right now?" and once you start attracting the happiness that you really belong to, past won't hurt anymore. Use the law of attraction. "You attract what you think about."
